About the Author

 

I'm an Independent Engineer. My background is fuels and chemicals process development, composite and catalyst manufacturing process development and investment/business analysis.  After working for 25+ years at UOP/Honeywell I moved on to Jacobs Consultancy and then Argus Consulting Services.

During my consulting career I have performed Independent Engineer (IE) evaluations and investment due diligence on numerous entrepreneurial firms, first commercial projects, and multiple petroleum refineries, in North America and Asia.  I also help entrepreneurs and established businesses with business development and manufacturing process development. My clients have been energy and chemicals majors/minors, private equity firms, banks, sovereign wealth funds, private investors, the US DOE, the USDA and process development entrepreneurs.

Specialty areas: Renewables/bio-fuels, refining/petroleum products, biochemicals, bitumen partial upgrading, gasification-based processes, pyrolysis-based processes, catalyst manufacture, recycled products, composite materials, process development, prototype development. I have multiple process patents.
